Hello. It’s me, Sarah.
For more than fifteen years, my writing career has strictly been in a commercial capacity with all personal writings scribbled inside the worn pages of my journal. I’ve spent my career for corporate America creating marketing campaigns and messages for brands and events. With just shy of a decade devoted to supporting the non-profit world, I have written grant proposals and sponsorship requests to fund important medical research for a global nonprofit.
Though the majority of my writings were business in nature, they all shared a common thread. Woven together in the fabric of each piece, with each job, was the need to tell a story. Storytelling is the best way to connect a brand to the audience, to explain the much needed research for cure therapies, to connect families with funding, and to show companies the importance of bringing their brand to your event.
Today, I’ve expanded my writing on a personal level, delving into the fictional characters of children’s picture books, crafting messages I wish I had read when I was younger, and writing the stories I couldn’t find that my daughter and I needed when life changed for us. I’m also working on my memoir, which at times sounds rather fictional, too.
My hope is that by giving voice and space to my stories, I will encourage others to share their voice, too. We all have a story worth telling. Together, we can overcome, move forward and collectively encourage one another. From one woman to another. From one mom to another. From myself to you. I hope you’ll join me along the journey of storytelling for both young and old. Curl up with your little one or by yourself and read a tale or two.
And remember, it’s never too late to do what you were born to do. Take the adventure and make your own kind of happily ever after.
Love to all!
Sarah
